We do our best to fulfill every with in 48 hours. If you need to change anything in your order once your order is placed, please email info@detroitisthenewblack.com. Although it is not guaranteed, we will do our best to accommodate changes before your order ships.
Exchanges
If exchanging size or color, exchange within 30 days of original purchase. Please email info@detroitisthenewblack.com with your order number and the description of the new item you wish to exchange. DITNB will cover shipping costs.
Returns
Returns must be made within 30 days of original ship date. Please email info@detroitisthenewblack.com with your order number, reason for the return and you will receive a return shipping label.
Merchandise for exchanges and returns must be unworn, unwashed, without stains or signs of wear and must have the original tags and original packaging. All sale items (and indicated styles) are final sale. We will process your refund to the payment method used on the original order once we receive your return and verify the quality.

Founder & CEO
Roslyn is the founder, CEO and driving force behind Détroit is the New Black. Roslyn acquired a B.A. in Fashion Merchandising from Howard University. She lectured at Wayne State University and guest lectured at the London College of Fashion. She spent the early part of her career in the buying office at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City then was recruited by EU eCommerce giant, Rocket Internet GMBH to head buying operations in SE Asia.
Called “The Motor City’s Hottest Designer” by TIME Magazine, Roslyn is the brainchild behind Detroit’s premier label and concept Détroit is the New Black. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Travel & Leisure, The Wall Street Journal, W Magazine, GOOP & ELLE. She was honored as a Crain’s Business 40 Under 40 recipient in 2019 and was a selected member of the 2020 Detroit Month of Design Curatorial Committee. She currently serves on the Charles Wright Museum of African American History Advisory Council. Roslyn has recently joined national retailer Neighborhood Goods as their VP of Business Strategy & Development.

Birth
Founded by Roslyn Karamoko in 2014 as a community-centric platform with a vision to elevate black-owned brands, Détroit is the New Black has become a driving force for positive entrepreneurial & communal impact across the City of Detroit.
Marketplace
Once a humble, grassroots, African American fashion story started out of the N’Namdi Center for Arts, the concept has since become known as an innovative distribution platform incubating, supporting & raising up some of the City’s most talented underrepresented founders & their brands.

With an ambitious expanded vision, Détroit is the New Black moved to Woodward Ave in 2016, providing the concept & the brands within it a space to gain exposure, build community & help rebuild the downtown retail corridor of Detroit. Community events & philanthropic partnerships served as the basis to build a following & offer the concept’s brands affordable retail space, priceless exposure & invaluable marketing.

Since 2016, the Détroit is the New Black space has celebrated immense growth, undergone a flagship renovation in 2019 & received city, regional & national recognition as the visionary platform it was once founded to become.
Impact
Since its inception, Détroit is the New Black has championed hundreds of black- & minority-founded brands, collaborated with key nonprofits to provide free & low-cost space, imported global brands looking for a footprint in Detroit & helped usher in the next generation of entrepreneurs through various sponsored youth programs.
