Who deserves access to the American dream? For so long, the labor and environment of Detroiters and Black Americans has been exploited. What does it look like for us to own our own futures, and contribute mindfully to our economies?
The next chapter for Detroit Is the New Black attempts to answer that question. The knitwear collection is an experiment in thoughtful manufacturing. Created by us, manufactured in the US (and soon, Detroit), and operating on a made-at-request model — no waste, no environmental exploitation, no unnecessary consumption.
